MMI welcomes Casey Delperdang, our newest associate PR manager. To learn more about our new teammate, we sat down and asked her a few questions. Check out her responses below.
Tell us a little about yourself.
I’m a Texas native (raised in Katy, graduated from The University of Texas), but I’ve spent the past couple of years in Chicago, supporting health care, consumer packaged goods, and engineering clients at Burson-Marsteller. After a cross-country move and a whirlwind EuroTrip, I’m thrilled to be settled in Houston and to be joining the brilliant MMI team!
What do you like to do in your free time?
I love discovering new places and faces, binge watching HGTV and 90s sitcoms, and reading everything from Russian literature to graphic novels.
What drew you to MMI?
Its energy and people. It may sound cheesy, but I felt everyone’s passion for their work and colleagues the minute I stepped through the door. Who wouldn’t want to work at a place like that?
What inspired you to go into advertising and marketing?
When I was little, I had two dreams: to be a famous actress and to be Dr. Frasier Crane. A school counselor suggested public relations might be a more realistic way to combine my love for storytelling and psychology. She was right!
What marketing platform are you most excited to see evolve over the next two years?
It isn’t a platform per se, but influencer engagement really excites me. I think as media becomes more fragmented and more individuals (including consumers themselves) start creating and distributing their own content, there will be more opportunities for creative partnerships than ever before.
What’s currently your favorite brand activation or campaign out in the market?
I’ve always been a fan of Lay’s Do Us a Flavor. Regardless of how I feel about the flavors themselves (I’m looking at you, New York Reuben), I’m amazed at how the brand has been able to leverage the same campaign concept as a year-over-year media and consumer engagement machine.
