MMI welcomes Kate Michalowski, our newest Senior Project Manager. To learn more about our new teammate, we sat down and asked her a few questions. Check out her responses below.
Tell us a little about yourself.
My husband and I just moved to Houston from Wilmington, Delaware. Prior to moving to Houston, I lived in Delaware for the better part of 13 years. I went to the University of Delaware for my undergrad degree, and I got my master’s degree from Elon University from the Interactive Media program. For the past three years, I have been working with a variety of clients on mostly digital projects. I am excited to broaden my skills working at MMI!
What do you like to do in your free time?
I really enjoy going to the gym. I always feel so accomplished after I get in a great workout. I also enjoy trying out new restaurants and bars. My husband and I love trying different craft beers. We even have a beer fridge dedicated to our favorites. We are looking forward to exploring all that Houston has to offer. Restaurant and bar suggestions are welcome!
What drew you to MMI?
Everyone I met at MMI through the interview process was so passionate about what they do. Their energy and drive was infectious! It really got me excited to be a part of the team.
What inspired you to go into advertising and marketing?
I was first inspired to go into advertising after I took a few interactive media classes at the University of Delaware. I was so intrigued by all of the innovation happening in digital, and I knew I wanted to be a part of it. I took my interest and pursued a master’s degree from Elon University to solidify my skills and knowledge. I think the thing that I love the most about advertising is the fast paced creative environment. There is never a dull moment!
What marketing platform are you most excited to see evolve over the next two years?
I am excited to see how social media platforms continue to evolve and how brands use them to stay connected to their consumers. In the next two years, platforms like Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat will change and/or add features. I am excited to see how these changes inspire marketers to develop new ways to reach consumers.
What’s currently your favorite brand activation or campaign out in the market?
I think Domino’s AnyWare Campaign is really innovative. It lets consumers take control of how they order and uses social media as a way to purchase direct from Domino’s. Letting customers order from Domino’s via social media takes a normally private action and creates a social conversation around it. It also means free advertising for Dominos with every @dominos mention and pizza emoji, which is really clever.
Welcome to the team, Kate!
